Multiple ip connections knocking down server?

Hi Dro & Shoutcast Team,

I am wondering if there is any solution for blocking an ip with multiple connections outside of the ban & kick method? As of lately, our stream has been bombarded by 20-30 connections from same ip address. We ban and kick then a few minutes or hours later, the same thing happens with a new ip. On 2 or 3 occasions it has caused the server to hang or bring it offline Is there some type of preventive action that we can take to stop these "what seem to be" malicious connections?
