Need help with a 1960's song
Let's set the stage. Year(s) 1963-1965. Place-With in 75 miles of NYC. Living in a small Connecticut town, I enjoyed all types of "city" music. Grew up with Cousin Brucie on WINS, Occasionally could get Wolfman Jack from somewhere in Mexico. (If the weather was just right). Crooned with Wm B Williams on WNEW 1130 in New York when he played music from the "Chairman of the Board". Sorry about the digression. This was about the end of the male rock-pop-r&b era.
The song I need help with had some of the following lyrics. "Time can make the sun grow cold, time can turn the earth to gold, time, who knows the miracles that time can do. But to make me forget your love, but to make me forget your love is gonna take much more than time, much more than time". This was performed by a male singer along the style of Gene McDaniels, Jackie Wilson, LLoyd Price or Clyde McPhatter. These lyrics have dogged me for decades. It was played for about 4 weeks and dropped off the charts. I have searched the web and can find nothing. Does anyone else remember the song title or artist? |
