POSSIBLE MACRO IN THE SYSTEM

I keep seeing this MAD DOG posting reviews titled 00 with the commennts "00" and giving the skin 0 stars. This has happened to few skins I have encountered which all have had 4 or more stars, if he put some other comments in then I wouldn't mind but always "00"? Could it be some Macro working it's way through the skins giving good skins bad reviews?

Hello Wildfire!

To be blunt - no shit.

But I'm know your thread got moved, so it isnt really your fault. If you find your way back here, and look around in this forum, you'll see that this problem has become a major issue. I for one am hoping to find a remedy in the much promised and eagerly awaited review panel, which I hope will either eliminate, or help to staunch this problem.

you know whats incredibly sad? It isnt a macro, and there is a real live human being messing with probably 100 skins or so...basically whatever skins gets rated high enough to compete [?] with his/hers...the skins gets MAD DOGGED!

Mad Dog is still doing his little 00 game.. 58153 is my skin and he has done it three times!!! He must be registering under his name but with different user names because his 00's are showing up more than once, and we all know that each user is only allowed to rate each skin one time. What can we do about this?

My brain is working here, the webmaster or anyone with access to the server can do an IP lock, so no matter what he signs up ass he can never get back on, just an idea, subject to variation.

Not practical for several reasons MJ stated in another thread. One of them's that the guy might be on dial-up

Yeah, I don't think that IP blocking would truly solve the problem. This may be an impractical idea, but It'd me nice to have some sort of form that members could fill out about complaints with other members for harassment, skin bashing, etc. After a certain number of complaints, the name would get flagged and the wonderful people at winamp could review the complaints and see if they hold weight. That's just an idea, anyway. I haven't been MAD DOGGED yet, but we'll see what happens with my new skin that is soon to be published, hopefully.

If you have time, go see my skin and how many time Mad Dog has given me his little "00"'s! The numbers is 58153 and he has rated me with 0 stars 15 times in a row, plus 3 or 4 other times. People have given me 5 stars with comments to him, and I think that's pissin' him off more! How can I stop this? I really don't care about the rating in the long run, I skin my photo's for fun.. and they really should be in another category, such as photo's so that they aren't compared to the ones that are so incredibly awesome and take forever to complete. But of course WinAmp doesn't have a photo category YET so there they are. Anyway, what can we do about this Dog Faced Idiot?

I love that skin! Very cool! I too let Mad Dog get me down for a few minutes... but then when people started commenting against him while rating my skin at 5 stars I felt better... even when he took it too much to heart and rated my skin "00" 15 consecutive times!!! I FEEL THE SKIN LOVE and he can't stop it!

the timestamping of them are contiguous yes, but they are not seemless they increment here and there and even jump or miss days at a time...between them. Someone has no life and sits at his pc pumping/deflating ratings...
