Can't Create Authhash?

Hello, I can not create my Authhash so my shoutcast station can be listed in Shoutcast directory. Every time I click CREATE AUTHHASH it takes me to a page to set up a radio station. My station is already set up. It takes me to this link https://rmo.shoutcast.com/Settings/R...7-cb69018e660f

How do I create my Authhash?

I still can't create a Authhash to get my radio listed. It keeps sending me to the page to set up a radio station. The Create AuthHash Button is not directing me to create a AuthHash.

i think now you have to do that (setup a radio station) first.

That's because you added Salsa Warriors (ed68565f-e943-451d-b227-cb69018e660f) to the RMO as a SHOUTcast Streaming Service (SCSS) station instead of as a DNAS station.

Note how there's 2 options when adding/creating a station....

I've changed it to DNAS and generated a new authhash.

You can find the authhash in your RMO

Copy & paste it into your DNAS admin or config file....

I believed that worked DJ EGG. The Status Listing now states "Stream is currently up and public."

I'm assuming it worked because it no longer states YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR STATION.

I'm having the same problem.

I have had my station for several years and now I have been told that my provider needs to convert to Shoutcast v2. So he does and sets it up. Then this message is what I see on both DNAS server pages.

Stream is currently up but requires registration in the SHOUTcast Directory.
Listeners are allowed and the stream will act like it is private until resolved.

So I go and try to register.

I go to a page that says "Fill-in all the required info to create or update your radio station"

Then below that I see "If you are upgrading an existing SHOUTcast station, please provide your station's authhash*"

So I log in one of the Shoutcast DNAS servers and I see "Create Authhash."
I am so lost. Can anyone help? I'm not a tech expert.

I'm also confused about what "Tags" are or what purpose they serve. I need that explained as well.

tags are supposed to be search terms that can be used to find your station -- that's in addition to the other (standard) station info like genre and station title - to be useful, tags should not be duplicates of words that are already in the other station fields.

Something like: mystationname, mygenre, myhometown, myfavouritetoy, mycat, mydog, myfavouritecolor

the tags are optional -- don't beat yourself up over them -- they can be left blank.

Well if tags will help someone find my radio station better then I'd like to know where I could find a list of popular tags to use.

believe it or not, "popular" tags are not what you're looking for -- for tags you want unique strings that will only find your station and not everyone else's. dj names, featured artists, labels.

I'm also not sure if the shoutcast.com site searches tags yet (via the search box), but i never tested it out all that rigorously either.

I still don't know how to create an authhash. I log in one of my servers and there is "Create" and "Manage" Authhash. So I decided to click on the "Mange" and it took me to this page. https://rmo.shoutcast.com/Settings/Radio/create

Problem, I already am hosting my station with a provider. I have been using the same provider for several years. So why do I need to fill out all that information?

When I click "generate authhash" within my admin page I am taken to my shoutcast page (which annoyingly I had to create a separate account for - different from this forum).

Then I am offered two options:
SHOUTcast Streaming Service
SHOUTcast DNAS

I select the second option but instead of being given and authhash as promised, I am *asked* for an authhash.

If I don't have one (which I obviously don't) I am advised to go back to my admin page and repeat the process - that is flawed infinite loop logic.

EDIT: I had to fill out all my station details first, then it worked.

NB Station URL and bitrate are irrelevant. They are actually determined when you run your DNAS server(s).

The stream url is used for the listing on radionomy.com
and also for some of the features in the RMO (stats, html5 player, etc).

I did follow all the instructions on setting up a new radio station and the station is playing on shoutcast but it is not registered!

Can someone be kind and guide me to it
I keep reading some Q/A and they tell me to log in to the admin page but I cannot get to the screen where I can log in to the admin and create the Authhash?

This is the same issue im having. I need to know WHAT the Authhash code actually is. I need to copy and paste it into my stream providers admin page but i keep getting looped

if you don't already have an authhash -- when your dnas admin page sends you to rmo.shoutcast.com, create new station, fill out everything but the authhash -- you do it like you would in your source config (make sure of everything because your v2 dnas will use this info over all source provided info) -- upon successful (station) creation, you will get an authhash that you can then use in the dnas admin page.

it is a circle, you just have to follow it all the way around.

Cant do it that way
I dont have a DNAS page
I dont have a CONFIG file

Because like its noted in my message above. I am using a streaming provider. So i dont have access to a config file.



I have followed ALL the steps it asks me to which i am capable of following"

But when i go there it says = The file you requested could not be found

Now what i dont understand is when i go to www.shoutcast.com and search my station

it shows up but i think its pulling my OLD server pls because its not showing something that i AM playing.

you should have already created an account and station there -- the activation page will have your authhash, your stream url, etc.

your streaming provider -- if they'are providing v2 hostng, there will be a way for you to enter the authhash, v1 servers cannot be listed using an authhash.

also -- you didn't say, but when you created your station, you must select the dnas option, not the shoutcast streaming service option.

and -- the *.shoutcast.com and *.radionomy.com sites are actually different -- make sure you don't get them mixed up -- they share some info (they even look alike), but they are not the same thing from a registration standpoint.

i have created everything
the tune in link works
i dont know why i have to create a secondary Encoder for this when im going to have other djs connecting to the system remotely. This seems like THEY wont be able to connect unless they create secondary encoders as well.


Aside from that. There are NO screens i see on either Shoutcast or RMO which tell me an Auth Hash code.
All i see are butons and messages telling me either i am NOT registered because the Auth hash is missing
Yes i know its missing because i cant find it

Or they are telling me, im up and running but im private so use this link to CREATE an Auth.

Each time i click the links to CREATE, it just says "Fill in this information" but its already filled in--- ALL OF IT.

So what page am i supposed to see the Auth Hash on?

IF i create a station using the DNAS application does this mean i need to have TWO encoders running?

ok - you created a shoutcast streaming service station - that means shoutcast is hosting a dnas for you - no authhash there. all scss will provide you with is source connection info and listen info.shoutcast manages the dnas and authhash.

if you have a dnas hosted somewhere else, you created the wrong station type on rmo.shoutcast .com (no authhash necessary).

maybe send an email to support so they can fix the station type for you -- if you start deleting and recreating stations, you may lose your prefered station name.

all you're waiting for is an authhash so that your hosted dnas will be listed in the shoutcast.com directory.

you have hosting, you have a source app -- broadcast away.

ignore the registration messages, they don't mean anything -- the dnas works exactly the same without it. don't use any of the links on the shoutcast site, just use your hosted dnas host/port address when advertising your stream.

you're waiting to get your shoutcast directory listing corrected so you can get an authash (hopefully from support or the mods here)... if you feel you need the shoutcast listing, or you want to get paid to run adverts, you can try to create a new dnas type station, but i'll warn you, this forum is filled with posts where that went bad.

I am unable to make my server public. I have registered my authhash at https://rmo.shoutcast.com/Settings/R...7-97a1570ebc6f, but when I go to my DNAS server says "Stream is currently up received Directory error code: 470."
