Making Skins

Hey can someone please help me in making a skin. I Have no idea how to get started. How do I put a picture in the background? And how do I create a cool design instead of just a freehand sketch in the paint program. Someone please help me because I am lost. Thanks.

the easy ways:
-rip a good skin or discover skinner.exe

the hard ways:
find a template amp or use the base skin and change the images, and if that is too hard click the links from ampburner

if you see a skin with neat animations or something you could always unzip it to see how they did it..
