Don't get mad dude, BUT... This is just a basic "skinner.exe" skin. I could duplicate it exactly in about 10 seconds. Try changing the buttons, sliders etc. to give it some uniqueness.

I do like your color scheme tho.

Hrm...my last post didn't show up, so...

What programs could I use to edit some other stuff, like fonts used, the mouse, etc? I'm not good at going in and doing it bare-fisted.

For cursors try Microangelo

As for fonts, do you mean Playlist fonts and MB fonts? If that's the case, go into the zip file and open up the pledit.txt file. Change the font to something common (the default is Arial). You can use Tahoma, Comic sans MS, there's about 5 or 6 common one's I can't think of right now, lol. sorry. Maybe someone else can list them. Anyone?

For the MB you need to add this to the bottom of the pledit.txt file:

MBBG=#000000 (code for black)
MBFG=#?????? (whatever the html code is for the color you used in the playlist or whatever you choose.)

And e-blackladder is right. Skinning tools are ok to cut up a skin but you need to personalize it. Get into the zip file and change the buttons on the Main window so they don't look so skinnerish. Same goes for the playlist stack (+file, -file, etc) and sliders and buttons on the EQ.

I like the colors, just make it more personal and don't forget to skin the MB, AVS and all the winshade modes. It sounds like alot but it's not a complete skin otherwise.

You're off to a good start

Other common fonts

Times New Roman
Verdana
Courier
Wingdings

And you can add "Italic" "Bold" or "Bold Italic" to these, too.

No matter what proggie you use, you are gonna have to work "bare handed" for the most part. Just remember, nothing good in life comes easy. As for good stuff to have, everyone has different preferences depending on what kind of skin they like to do. If you are serious about trying to skin well then you really should have a wide selection of tools to work with. Paint programs, photo editors, a tool to edit your cursors, etc. I'm sure if you ask everyone in here will provide you with a list.

Check here: http://www.cnet.com/downloads and do a search for "graphics tools" or "picture editors" what-have-you. They have a whole section devoted to graphics editing tools, and it's all seperated by price. (demo, free, etc.) After that, it's all experimenting and practice.

MS paint is always good for those small cut, copy, and paste jobs.
