Hi
I m doing my first skin for WA My problem is that the file "posbar.bmp", the one where u put your own time bar, doesn t work as the other files. See, i put my own background for the TB. OK. Then i try to design my own buttons (the same but with the 2 different states) and when i do this (so i cover the basic buttons with mine) it produces a weird result : The buttons who are supposed to be in motion when a song plays stay together at the end of the bar, the only thing which is moving is a single 1 pixel vertical stripe. I don t understand that point in skinning. Also i d like to know : How to create numbers with a transparent background ? Or does anyone knows a good website with "skinning tips" ? Thx. |

Sounds to me like you made your posbar too short and so your posbar buttons were interpreted by Winamp as part of the posbar background. If you have the base skin try copying and pasting over that. You can get the winamp one at http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp2x/...ins/base.jhtml.
When you say numbers with transparent background, do you mean true transparency (the windows desktop shows through) or fake transparency (where the background of main.bmp of winamp shows through)? True transparency is not possible because you define areas that must be there. This would not work for numbers as they change. Fake transparency could work, if the background is the same for all the positions (00:00, 00:00, etc.) |

re
thx for answering, the very weird thing is that i work from the base skin, my bar fits perfectly with the BG (neither too short, nor too long, the pixels are perfectly aligned).
Still trying to find... Also when i asked about transparency i was talking about the fake one, i would like the time numbers to display with the main BG visible (not with a black BG). Is this possible ? |

post a link to your skin and ill check out your posbar.bmp and tell you whats wrong
for the numbers... open up numbers.bmp (may be nums_ex.bmp) and change the black background to whatever you need it to be... you can also change the color and look of the numbers here... just make sure that 2 numbers dont overlap into each others area Artist Track |

Most picture skinners just try to work around this area, by putting the numbers in a special box, or beveled area or something similar, basicly covering up the background. |
