Are my listeners restricted in private mode?

Basically I have given up trying to go public, I've downloaded the latest DNAS server, and certainly can't understand registering a authash is about.

What I need to know, is there a restriction on how many listeners can tune into my station if I remain private?

When I used to broadcast about 7 years ago I could get about 12 listeners comfortably, but now I got faster fiber optic broadband I was wondering if I can get more.

More listeners

Hi,

There shouldn't be a limit on how many listeners in private mode, with your fibre broadband, when you do speed test, how fast is your upload speed? this will be the limiting factor, with some providers the speed will about the same as download.

Private server status only means that your server will not report to, or be listed in the shoutcast directory.

Regards

public vs private only refers to your listing in the shoutcast directory - public = listed and private = not listed -- nothing else about how your dnas operates is different.

with more bandwidth you can support more listeners irrespective of the public or private status.
