Winamp/Shout cast only works on local network

As suggested I switched to use a hostname rather than dynamic IP address. However there seems no way I can get the domain name recorded on the Shoutcast database. I changed the settings of my server, winamp & settings on Shoutcast web site to refer to the domain name and not the IP address ...
I STILL get an very old IP address returned to the getStreamURL request when I click play from the Shoutcast web site.
Clearly this is stored somewhere and not being updated.
