Upgrading SHOUTcast Server to 2.5.5.732 breaks low bitrate streams
When I upgraded 64 bit Windows DNAS from v2.5.1.724 to .732 the 128k streams are ok, but all lower bitrate streams fail for clients. Sources connect and show no problems. Changing the bit rate for the encoder allows one successful connection, after that it fails again. Revert back to the old DNAS and everything's ok.
Any ideas? |

try the 32bit and see if you experience the same issue.

Yes. 32bit has the issue as well. Affects all stream rates below 80kbps.

for the client connections, what does the log look like? are they short connections, long connections but little or no data, does the dnas report the correct client type (vi, v2)....
is the source properly reported (bitrate, samplerate...) by the log on source connect, and is it maintained in the admin page. i'm not totally clear on this, but is the source disconnecting/dropping during this? /* v2 HTML5 / Player test pages DigitalMixNYC, DigitalMixNYCbx | DNAS Status: Now Playing js codes (scaststatus_X.php) | PortForward.com | Upload/Download Speed Test | No-IP.com: Free Dynamic DNS | In the YP | dnasDir */ |

@jcnyct 44.1khz and 22khz sample rates. No AAC installed I'll look into it.
@djSpinnerCee Not much to the log. Connections time out after 30 seconds with 0 bytes. It's 44.1khz by default. The frame error only cropped up on the 64bit server. 32bit didn't. Still doesn't work at any stream rate below 80kbits in either 44 or 22khz sample rate on either server.

Same problem here on Debian 64bit.
Is there a way to download the previous version of Shoutcast, until the problem is fixed? I can only download the latest on the website. |

what were you all running before you got the latest version?
lesson here is, just rename the old version binary file to something like sc_serv2.5.1, then drop the new version in its place. this way you can roll back if you need to. if anyone needs the previous version you can msg me. |

Hi,
I have six streams, and the DNAS 2.5.5.732 relays only with the 128kbps stream and above. My streams at 64kbps don´t relay... Came back to 2.5.1.724 and the 64kbps was allright again on my CentOs 7 64bit server. |

Same thing on CentOS7 using the 64bit version. The 32bit version seems to work.
Edit: It worked for a bit anyway, stopped again. Looks like going back to 2.5.1 is the only option. |

I have a 48k stream, 2.5.5.732 simply DOES NOT WORK.
No audio. No data streamed out. NOTHING. NADA. SHOUTCAST.COM sees the station but says "cannot play stream" Suggestion: next version, test on multiple stream bitrates, from 16k to 356k or whatever the highest is. |

Yes. v2.5.5.733/win64 audio is working. Thank You. However, now the stream information "Playing Now:" Just defaults to the stream ID. It is not updating from either the automation software or when entered from Winamp. So that's a new issue?
