Basic Questions about Shoutcast
Hello
We run a network of radio stations. Both myself and our head of IT are new to the station. Previously we were using SHOUTCAST to stream our audio to the transmitters. and the Owner would like to return to that now that Shoutcast appears to be working again - it had been down for quite some time apparently. Question 1 - master.shoutcast.com is this still a necessary website. according to our documentation from the previous employees it is the one to get our Streaming server URL, but site just times out when trying to go there Question 2 - We apparently need to be hosting and streaming our files ourselves according to the information on the wiki this is what we need There are versions of the DNAS Server and Transcoder available on the following operating systems: • Windows 32-bit Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 • Windows 64-bit 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 Windows - NONE ARE SUPPORTED VERSIONS ANYMORE - will it work on Windows 10. Someone had mentioned we actually need Windows Server 2013 at minimum and preferrably Windows 2016 Question 3 - when we go to http://rmo.shoutcast.com to log into the server to get info we used to get no page now we get - Error You don't have any SCSS+Planner SHOUTcast radio station. That is helpful if we knew what it means - anyone know what it is or how to fix |
