Ye Olde Napster WMA DRM Licence

I have old tracks that I bought from Napster many years ago, before it merged with Rhapsody. I can't convert them or even play them because of the DRM on them all. I read that I could play them on Winamp, but would need to acquire a licence. The idea here is that if I can play them on Winamp with a licence that I can convert them into WAV files that I can then convert into MP3's. Any help would be appreciated please. Thanks

Try playing the file(s) in a program that will play DRM files and then just re-record (not fade away) with a program such as Audacity...Then save them to your preferred new format.

That's how I'd do it myself at least.

Could not demux ASF stream:
DRM protected streams are not supported.
VLC can't recognise the input's format:
The format of 'file:///E:/Napster%20Music%20%28Old%29/A%20Flock%20of%20Seagulls%20-%20I%20Ran%20%28So%20Far%20Away%29.wma' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details.

Thats VLC's error message.

This is why you never buy music with DRM. Sometime it's more hassle then its worth, but given that you cannot even listen to them again it might be easier to just buy the tracks again. Still you can check to see about reactivating your license, or see if there's WMA DRM breaker tools.
