getting started

hello
in 2001 I tried shoutcast for the last time. nowadays I wanna hook up again. 1. downloaded winamp 2. downloaded dnas 3. i put music on winamp 4. fill in my username and password. 5. in directory i changed name in radiofrits3. also tried changing url in http://listen.shoutcast.com/radiofrits3. 5. clicked connect
all it kept saying is connecting and disconnected.
please help me out what am i doing wrong ???

- did you set it up?

how? on a local computer? If so, have you made the necessary port forwards in your router?

I able to get in the router. i also found the port forwarding. but they ask for an ip adres . which i do not know. dnas still does conecting disconecting. the start and end port shall be 8000 ???
who can help me out ???

i can choose in the router for : port redirection , open ports , port triggering . i have tried all three but still says : port closed. on dnas it is still connecting disconnected

You can find out your external IP address Here

Then it should look like this (e.g 123.245.45.3:8000)

i looked up my ip adress filled it in but still saying connecting disconected

port triggering is not what you want. port forwarding is the way to go -- the ip address for port forwarding is the lan ip of the dnas computer - usually 192.168.something.

if winamp and the dnas are running on the same computer - the winamp dsp will use 127.0.0.1 as the ip address of the dnas.
