Nullsoft make it very clear what the latest version of winamp 2.x is. Why can't they do the same with Winamp 3.x then stupid people like me wouldn't make posts like this.

Because they could have either released the alphas to the pre-release testing team OR they could release it to the general public.

As you probably understand, they didn't release it to the pre-release team only, so the general public it is. The mere fact that they don't announce it on the web pages or whatever is just as logical as they don't announce "new winamp 2.whatever test released to testers!".

It's only released for the hardcore fans wanting to check out and help crushing bugs. It's not made for the general public, it's not ready for that.
