No sound when I play CD's, but Winamp works when I play Mp3's
Can anyone help me with this? I have tried all that was suggested in the FAQ's, I even uninstalled and installed again. What am I missing? My firewall is shut down. Even my Windows CD Player won't give me any sound. The counter is moving ahead, and there are no errors, just no volume, and nothing is muted!

When software isn't the culprit, hardware may be to blame. There is an audio wire that connects your CD-ROM drive to your sound card so that you can play audio CD's (and HEAR THEM!
) it is possible that your wire is disconnected, broken, frayed, or something. If you've been under the hood of a PC before you should probably be able to spot it, if you're leery about going in, ask a friend with some experience. If not, keep exploring software/windows related possibilities. (Check your Windows Mixer CD Volume Level, or Creative Mixer Levels (or whatever card you use's mixer))
