Just stop and read this for a sec. Help me.

I'm new to server side, and I am about to get a virtual server that uses the Unix platform. I understand that Linux is a Unix variant, so some Linux software must be able to work on Unix. Will Shoutcast? I've read some things on the net, but no one directly addresses that question. I posted a question in the Shoutcast tech support forum, but no one answered. Lots of views, but no answers. Is there someone out there who knows the answer to my question, and doesn't think so highly of himself that he won't take 2 minutes to help me? God Bless the person that does. Thanks in advance.
