just a simple question!!

Hi all,
Im new to all this but i need to ask a few questions.
1. i had winamp a few months ago but had to reboot my computer becuase it crashed too many times! when i installed it and played CD's the AVS visulisation danced to the music, however it does not seem to now i have reinstalled it! is there any way to make the visulisations move to the music?!
also, i read in another post that the gaps in between the cd tracks can be taken out by installing a program - not sure which one it was but i downloaded it and now im not sure how to activate it!

HELP!!!
