Avatar Week

OK gang, beginning now, we have a week to give avatars a trial.
Please adhere to the rules and be responsible for your choosings.
If not, we'll lose this priviledge and likely will not receive anymore perks. Size is limited to 50 X 50 pixels.
I've included this poll to evaluate them, so please be honest.
Thanks,
Chev

Ps. Thx Jon

I think as long as it doesn't get abused and people dont do any stupid crap, it's just one more stupidly fun thing. It lets you give yourself some kinda "personal" touch, (and hopefully reduces the headache over custom titles). Ey, its all good.

By the way, to choose your avatar, go to "My Control Panel", choose "Edit Options", avatar info is at the bottom.

I don't think we should have them. It's just like having two sigs. And you know there's always gonna be some people with huge ones. It's just gonna be another useless thing that the mods have to waste more time on patrolling.

If you really want an avatar, put it in yer sig.

Then again... I do see the attraction of having something in your title area...

- It's fixed at 50x50. It can't be any bigger even if you tried.

- You can turn them off in your CP.

My interest in this is seeing how creative one can be with a tiny canvas. On VP chat, you're allowed a 48 X 64 canvas and it gets seriously tricky, especially when text is involved.

Cool deal for me cause it's new.
Surely hope folks don't take advantage of it,
and ruin the priviledge of being able to use it.
But if that happens and they stop it...
I will say..."Oh Well"...and continue working on my sig,
which I'll do anyway. There's allot more you can do
with a sig anyway.

Avatars, hmmmmm, they don't have a need actually, since custom signatures including images are allowed ... I think with avatars being enabled permanently, besides the signature, would cause in too much graphics in the forums ... Just my $0,02.

Anyways, I still evaluate my avatar to see if I really like it or not .

Peace.

Yay! More eye candy!

It needs to be heavily policed, though. I hope it's automated (ie. oversized images are trimmed / rejected altogether at the moment they are submitted).
