WAV files when WinAmp is open

On my old computer, whenever WinAmp was playing a song, then the WAV files associated with Windows events (maximizing/minimizing a window, opening menus, etc) would not play. I liked that, no other sounds popped up to interrupt my music. But on my new computer, all WAV files play, even when I have music going. Is there any way to fix this?

there is no fix, this was considered a bug of odler systems. You can by a crapier soundcard that is "half duplex" though

The only way is to shut off all other system sounds
