weinamp and SBpci128 on WK2

When starting winamp using a SB audio128 balance drops always to the right. Manually set to middle lasts only for this song. The same applies to cda's played directly from CD's and mp3s from the disk.
All other players which I don't like, work fine,
Environment is WK2 German winamp 272 and SB card PCI128 4816

I'm curious what a possible reason will be.

First off, try downloading the newest version of winamp and german language pack.

http://www.winamp.com/download/

That sounds like it would fix the problems by reinstalling all the .dlls that might be causing it. Just make sure that you completely uninstall 2.72 before you install 2.76 to make sure that a bad .dll doesn't stick around for 2.76.

Try the following: Open up Winamp first, then press both CTRL and P together in order to make the Winamp preferences window to appear. Now you go to Plug-ins -> Output -> doubleclick on the entry which says Nullsoft waveOut plug-in v2.3. That should bring up the waveOut's configuration window. Now make sure that in the Volume control - area, both Enabled and Alt setting mode are being checked. After doing this, close all preferences windows and see if your problem disappeared . It usually should do the trick.

Before you try anything beyond this, you really should upgrade to the latest version, v2.76 .

Post here if your problem persists, please.

Peace.

Make sure the balance slider in the main winamp window is centralized

Before fooling around, set Winamp's own volume and balance to your desired settings, because they actually directly control Windows' sound settings.
