Optimizing the fps of Plugins

Hello,

I have a thing that flashs crap as the song is playing, when i double click it it goes into winamp AVS editor (that may help answer my question) I am noticing low fps rate and the inability for it to be fast good graphics when the viewer is big or even fullscreen.

I have a pentium 3 866mhz 128 pc 133mhz ram and gforce 2 MX video card, i have a game called counter strike (half life mod) runnin at 70fps, so im sure the 7 to 12fps of the winamp graphics thingy im seeing can be optimized to run faster and better, and possibly ruable at fullscreen. Is there any sites or ways to easily change this to make sure it is working to its full potential.

The way i am doing this is by going into the winamp menu > visualization > start stop plugin and it runs the graphics thingy.

Anyway any techniques would be greatly apprectiated I am also running Windows 2000 operating system, if that is of use (Win2k OS)

AVS uses software only, not hardware. You can have the best videocard in the world, it doesn't matter

Start -> Run: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSINFO\MSINFO32.EXE

Tools -> System Configuration Utility -> Startup tab. Make sure only System Tray is checked.

That way Windows will run absolutely no programs on its own when you start the computer up, which will leave a lot of memory free for AVS. If your computer is around 700MHz or better, you can probably now get higher than 80 fps in AVS.

When i went run C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSINFO\MSINFO32.EXE that program when you go to the tools option (alt+t) only has 1 option for win2k, thats windows, under that there is no option of what you said would be there. The only this i found was there is a section in that System Information that says System Enviroment > Startup Programs > it shows all the programs to run on startup, though none say system tray, nor are there checkboxs.

There is stuff like icq, msmsgs, nerocheck and so forth.

Can you please elaborate on your post and make sure you are talking about win2k OS, not how to fix the problem in win98 or something.

Also because you say it runs off software rendering, maybe its the virtual memory or something that you set the amount you want to allow and so forth, any ideas because i have no idea.

Thanks
