The weirdest thing happened and it's driving me crazy...
Okay...I downloaded the Geiss plug-in...everything worked fine.
Downloaded the Drempels plug-in...everthing worked fine. Dowloaded the Milk Drops plug-in...it didn't work fine. Now, if I try to use any of those plug-ins, winamp dies. As in, I get a pop-up window that says something bad happened and the compy is going to close out winamp now. Erm, I've unistalled and reinstalled winamp to see if that would change anything, as well as the plug-ins. It didn't. I have no idea what happened, can anybody tell me? |

As a last resort, you could try formatting your hard drive, and starting again.
Of course, this option is only really valid of you have all four of the following: 1) A Windows Boot-Up disc (3.5" floppy) 2) A Windows Installation CD 3) a. Installation discs/CD's for all your programs 3) b. A vague knowledge of where you downloaded installation files for your programs from, eg www.winamp.com or sonique.lycos.com 4) Backups of all your important documents THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED. IF YOU DO IT AND LOSE DATA, THEN I AM NOT TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. Basically, don't do it unless you're sure you know what you're doing. Again: if you lose data, it ain't my fault. I recommend backing up both to disc and to a CDR or zipdisc. You could also try backing up to something like X:drive or a Winamp Locker. Woo! my 80th post! I would thank you kindly not to sniff my chicken |

Reinstalling Windows ? Reformatting ?
Why not simply delete the faulty plug-in ? Get rid of them and everything should be OK. |

Okay, first...updating directX worked.
![]() Second, formatting is the solution to everything, right? lol, at least that's what the CS teacher at my old school always seemed to think if you had a problem with your computer. And, Twilightseer, I'd already tried deleting the plug-in and it was still being weird. But it's all fixed now, so thanks to everybody who gave me advice. ![]() ~Ana |

I'd say that reformatting is rather "the last resort".
Anyway, glad anything works now. |
