One answer to your first question would be to have each programmer
accessing the same server and same port, with each one logging onto the server one after the other. This would require fairly tight time coordination between programmers instead of relying on any ques taken from the stream because of the delay. As to taking live calls over the web, again I see no problems as long as the host(s) utilize either additional telephone circuits or dsl circuits from client PC's to server, which would allow them to use their dial-up circuit simultaineously. If you are depending on dial-up circuits and modems to send your streams to your server then I assume you don't mind the constraints on audio quality and the lack of reli- ability that such circuits offer. If you have the resources mentioned above, taking calls live should be no problem. Again, you'll need to ignore your stream (if you're accustomed to monitoring it in real time) just as broadcasters do when utilizing tape delay. Good Luck |
