Random stopping
Ok, this is driving me NUTS.
If I double click on an mp3 in my playlist, or click the next button in winamp, or even hit enter while I'm selecting an mp3 in my playlist, Winamp will randomly stop playing within the first few seconds of the song. Usually what happens is this: I double click an mp3 on my playlist. Winamp loads the mp3 (shows the time, id3 info, etc), then will either play a second or so, or not play at all. I click the play button to force winamp to play, it plays a few seconds, then stops again. I click the play button AGAIN, and it will either repeat the previous, or just play as normal. I can't reproduce this reliabily, but it's VERY anoying. I'm running Windows 2000, and Winamp 2.76. This does NOT happen if I just let winamp keep playing a playlist. So if I get a song playing, and there are a bunch of songs in my playlist, they will all play fine as long as I don't skip a song, or double click one of the songs in the playlist. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! |

More info...
It appears to not "stop" but instead it actually pauses. The clock (timer... whatever) flashes like it does when you pause.
So perhaps this is random pausing, not stopping. :-) HELP!!!! |

Installed any potentially iffy 3rd party plugins maybe?
If so, try removing/disabling them. Also check to see if any other programs have silently installed a 3rd party plugin, eg. gen_nomad.dll c/o PlayCenter2/3 which comes with the SBLive/Audigy series of soundcards. If the problem persists, try uninstalling and then reinstalling If the problem still persists, please provide full sys specs in your reply, including CPU + speed, RAM, Soundcard, Videocard, etc, plus a list of concurrently running programs. It might also be wise to run ScanDisk & VirusScan too. |

Incredible. I renamed gen_joeminidisc.dll and now everything seems happy. (It was installed by my Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1.)
Thanks! |

Out of interest, were you serious about the name of the plugin, or was it gen_nomad.dll after all?

Another plugin that causes problems?
![]() As if 1 wasn't bad enough, now we have this..... ![]() Please double check to verify that the SBLive 5.1 driver cd did install that plugin. |

Actually, it turned out to be a plugin I downloaded from winamp.com. It had nothing to do (as far as I can tell) with Liveware.
But the filename is correct. |

I would bet that genjoeminidisc.dll is a crack of gen_nomad.dll that someone did to transfer digitally to minidisc players
