ditto. You can't even see the rest of the cover. Open the bitmaps up yourself and give fixing that a shot. Try changing around those sliders some too.

We're just trying to encourage you to put some more effort into your skin...stay away from skinner.exe, and try PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro

Work on it and touch it out so it can be something we can at least stand to look at.

I'm sorry, I just noticed that there were some edited .bmps in there... I'm sorry for my ignorance. I hope that you will be able to forgive me someday.

Next time, try to start from scratch without using a skinner.exe . Picture skins are never good to start with either. If you have not got PSP7 or Photoshop then get one of those, ms paint won't do you any good.

Sof, this is a really cluttered busy skin. I can't say that I like it but I won't tell you it sucks. just go on your own instinct when you look at it.

Also, if you're serious about skinning, the first thing you need is a decent paint program. Check out www.jasc.com for PaintShop Pro. It's not as advanced as Adobe Photoshop but it does have a lot of the same effects and is very user friendly (providing they take the time to check out what everything does).

Your second step would be to download the template amp, you can find it by using the search skins feature, and/or check out the highest staff rated catagory. The bitmaps in that skin are all labeled quite simply for your editing enjoyment

Your last step, try to image what sort of amp you want to make, and go search the skin database to get ideas on what you can do. You would be very surprised at the flexibility of skinning those bitmaps.

And on a side note, ignore the negativity in this forum. If anyone ever says to you "I hate your skin" or "your skin sucks" without giving you any kind of real constructive feedback, print out a copy and save it for if you should run out of toilet paper. Thats all its worth.

I would like to apologise, sof145, for my earlier comments. I love Green Day and recognise that you are trying to make a skin about something you really enjoy. I really hope that my insensitivity has not turned you against skinning or frequenting this forum.

If you are to persue skinning, which I sincerely hope you do, take the advise posted above by Forever, and experiment with different colours, styles and subjects. Above all have fun.

I was a little upset as i did my best at making a skin with the bmp's but it is so damm hard to know if the pic fits the window and to see all the skin at once.
Is there a program (not skinner or ay crap like that) that will let u do this?

Sof, get that template amp, and learn how to use layers. Read PSP help files. Thats how I learned.

I will say this though, its a good idea to learn how to make a plain old skin before actually adding pictures. As a long time skinner, who is just now starting to do image amps, ... I find the image amps to be a hell of a lot more difficult. So in this case it might be a good idea, not to delete it and start over, but to make something a little less involved before tackling this one again.

yea i know of some of the proggiez u can cut sheist up with. I say u get one of those and just ditch sinner all together, then get a template amp for psp i have on as well, then look at non skinner skins that are fairy popular ad see that it akes more than just a picture through a skinner tool to create a good skin. You didn't do the best you could do i think it would of been better if u left the buttons but had gotten rid of the background, it tiles, t takes away readibility and it would have been better if u would of left it out. If u wanna make a green day skin just look at a good image skin and start from there
