Can't get sound into Linein for visual

Hello,
I first started Winamp in Linein mode and then I started my software program that generates sound. However, the sound from the software is not captured in the visual. The visual only
displayed title with Linein and timer on top.
I checked my Volume Control and it has the line-in selected, not muted.
What else should I check or correct ? Thanks.

Thank you for the quick response.
I checked my recording volume control options.
It does not have "stereo mixer". I am using
SB16 soundcard. Is this option mandatory for
using linein for the visual ?? Thanks

there should be a line in, also make sure everything is selected in the properties pannel for recording control

Hi,
I checked. All options are selected including
the line in. It didn't work. I just wonder whether stero mixer is needed ? SB16 soundcard
doesn't seem to have it.

just to make sure the title bar says Recording Control, not volume control right?

Yes. The title is recording control not volume
