Recognizing ID tags on load...

when i load my files into the playlist window they come up as their actual windows filenames with the .mp3 extension at the end. only when i doubleclick on them do they then change to their ID3 tag so.. how do i get them to change to the tag straight as i load them. it used to do it b4 but now its stopped working for some reason. thabks

Is the option 'read on load' selected?
Or is the option 'read on demand' select?
If the later of these two, set it to the first example and it might work.

Actually, I have put it on "recognize tags on: Load"
What's stupid is that Winamp doesn't recognize ID3v1 tags
therefore, like 90% of my songs are screwed, only the wma's and the mp3s with ID3v2 read on load.
the rest load when you play the song, which is wrong.

a bug, no?
grrr

oh yah, on a side note, anyone know if i can get the old winamp versions? (hopefully like 2.6 or something, before this NEW ID3 tag reader came in...)
i hate this new ID3 tag editor , the old one was better where u can pick between ID3v1 and ID3v2...(just my opinion, winamp still rules... )

make sure ID3 tags are on

Preferences (Ctrl-P) > Plug-ins > Input > Double click on "Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder 2.75i" > Title Tab > "Use ID3v1/v2 tags"

old versions http://winampheaven.da.ru

the ID3 tags are on...

btw, odd how the ID3 tag doesn't update in the playlist instantly, even if you press Update or OK. the playlist shows the song as the file name if you update/change the ID3 tag, then when you play the song again, it will load the ID3 tag. weird.
