WinXP + WinAmp Bug --> seeking = crash

When I try to seek on winamp, for 5+ minutes at a time, it locks up WinXp indefinately..

already dealt here. best solution: don't use winxp.

well, (ok, you asked for that)
does that happen with all output plugins ? (try switching waveOut/DirectSound/this)
does that happen with all file formats or with MP3s only ?
do you have any third-party plugins installed ?
try completely uninstalling/reinstalling winamp
update your sound card drivers
etc.
