Error Creating Writer

Hi. I just downloaded WinAmp 2.76 for the 3rd time and reinstalled it again, after uninstalling it each time.

When I try to play any MP3 or WAV file, (which have been associated with WinAmp), I get an error box, "Error Creating Writer."

I've got Win98SE and IE6 on my system.

What's up?

Preferences (Ctrl-P) > Plug-ins > Output > Select "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in v2.0" > Close

(Sounds like you are tying to use the WMA writer)

That seems to have fixed the problem, but I don't know why. I was just playing WAV & MP3 files. I didn't think I was "creating" anything.

Thanks,
Fr Kevin
