Help in makin a winamp please!!

hey
i have a great idea for an amp, but i have no clue where to start, i downloaded the skinner program from winamp.com, but like i dunno i can't put a picture over it of change the icons or anything. so a different program or somethin would be helpful. and tips on adding ion pictures, just basically makin the thing..thank you

well first of all, you probably want to get a good graphics program to edit each picture that the skin uses. These can be adobe photoshop, paint shop pro, etc, but even good old ms paint will get the job done(not nearly as nicely however). If you haven't yet, you might check out the winamp skin developers section at http:://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp2x/dev/skins/, which has a basic tutorial on what goes into skinning. this will tell you what you need and which files do what. You will have to download the base skin because even though you have it on winamp now, you don't have the hard bmp files to mess with. You will also need to download winzip at http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htmif you don't have it already so you can open the base skin zip file and zip your skin when you are complete. That should get you started.

but umm..like i got a good program. it's adobe photoshop or somethin, but like..i dunno i downlaoded the baes skin and everything and i got winzip, cause i download a lot of roms and stuff. but i guess, how to work the my programs or somethin, and how to apply the effects stuff like that, guess i'm not gettin it or somethin i will give it another go around.but thanks for your reply

hey thanks for the responses, i guess, i dunno, i need someone who can spenad 30 mins or so with liek say over msn or aol or somethin you know and walk me through it.like i learn by asstitance, if that makes sense, like i need guidance for the 1st star but after that it's all gravy for me, sorta visual leraner i guess. i dunno so if anyone could help me there then that would be good, and how do you change your pictures into .bmp i think it what that's called. is there a differnet program i need, i dunno, jsut anything would be good, but thanks to those who have responded, much appreciated
