WMA and DirectSound?

Is there a way to get the WMA plugin to use DirectSound? I hate going deaf everytime a WMA file is in my playlist.

Due to copyright restrictions, Micro$oft have made sure that only the WaveOut plugin is used when playing WMA's, regardless of what you select in Prefs -> Output.
The workaround is to replace the current in_wm.dll with this older version.
