Cant hear beginning of MP3's

When I start playing an MP3 the first several seconds (sometimes almost a min)of the file I cant hear, then it will just kick in and start playing....Got any info to fix this problem? im running Windows2K Pro, on a 1000MGz amd thunderbird,W/512k ram....
Any info will be appreciated!

You mean to tell us you have a Thunderbird 1GHz CPU w/ 512MB of RAM, right?

Because of course you know 512k was what a computer might have had 20 years ago, back when a hard drive was a luxury and a computer could cost you easily as much as a new car. And there's just no such thing as a MGz

J/K. I belive you, man, but we also need to know your brand and model of soundcard, whether or not you have the latest proper drivers for it, what OS and version of DirectX you're running...
