don't flame me but i gotta ask

ok i've been bitching about the damn avs and how it doesn't dock with the other winamp windows, for quite some time now, and one thing that nobody ever seems to tell me is why they havn't done it. will it make winamp heavier or something? will it cause problems with the other windows? i mean really whats up with it? i've seen many plugins that do attach themselves to winamp, so why not the avs?

this is not a request cuz i know its in the official wishlist, i just wanna know why they can't do it

if they did here's what my winamp might look like-->

Personally i think he's got a valid point and is entitled to ask, not all of us wanna wait forever and a day for winamp 3 to go final. In answer to the question, who knows, winamp 2.xx has basically been bug fixes for years now. Not much new is ever added so i wouldn't expect to see that feature anytime soon.

persoanlly, i think winamp 3 sucks ass. it's incredibly slow, takes half an hour to forward thru trax or switch skins, full of bugs, freezes about every 30 minutes, playlist sucks, skinning is impossible unless you have 20 hours a day to dedicate to making a skin that 5 ppl will download. im sticking to v.2
and i agree with bop... fix the damn avs

sawg, i know the option has been added to wa3, but i will probably not use it until it is really, really stable (right now it is very slow on my system) - i'm not trying to be a pest or anything, i just wanna know if there would be a problem if they added that option.

i mean right now i use the avs but its really a pain that i have to move it around separately

another question- is the code for avs open? if it is can't we simply add a command that is found in other plugins that allow for the docking?

wa3? what is this wa3 you people speak of?
Forever <---still in denial

I love winamp 2 :::Hugs her monitor::: its so yummy!
however I must say the AVS not docking has caused me such a nuisance when lining it up just right for screen shots.

If anyone can find any of the skins I made please email them to Forevever@aol.com
I can't remember all the names but specifically hunting for Lascivious, and DEVOUR (compilation with Jax) and any in the Impulse series which had 6 total. Auriferous, Gilt, Impulse, Nadir, and 2 others I can't remember but you dig.

Ok well, maybe it's just me but i've always considered them pretty minor changes. That could be of course simply because winamp is so close to having every feature most people could want it's hard to improve on. I'll second the vote for a docking avs though.

You must have some kind of possessed, demonic version of Winamp which was never released to the public.

Well, are you talking about the actual vis docking in the config window, or the AVS docking with the main winamp window where all the play controls are located?

by docking i don't mean just aligning next to winamp, cuz i know it already does that- but do you have to move avs separately when you move winamp? thats what i mean by docking, i am hoping that it will have the option to actually attach to winamp
