finished skin and preview of another

Hey there folks, just started messing around with skinning winamp when I saw the new develoeprs beta of Winamp3 was released. The best thing I figured to do was make a few Winamp2 skins before I started doing Winamp3 skins. Here's my first ever Winamp skin...

download it here if you want to take a closer look.

and here is the preview I mentioned...

Both of those are based on website designs. The first skinI did for rage3d.com, I was going for a LCD panel with a metal frame look. Kinda looks like a PDA though that wasn't my intention.
The second skin I did for my own personal site which is still in development (you can check out it's progress here). The only thing that I find with it is the text on it is very small (4x3 pixels to be precise). "main.bmp" is done, eqmain.bmp is about 70% along, nothing else is touched.

Some honest feedback would be awesome.

I'm too lazy to go to your website (forgive me)

The first skin: Very nice. A little too typical but an excellent skin nonetheless. And being your first? double snaps for you!! Make some more.

The second skin: sweeeeeeeet!!! where's the rest of it?? its awesome!! do not stop! if the world is falling apart around you, this skin must be finished!

If anyone can find any of the skins I made please email them to Forevever@aol.com
I can't remember all the names but specifically hunting for Lascivious, and DEVOUR (compilation with Jax) and any in the Impulse series which had 6 total. Auriferous, Gilt, Impulse, Nadir, and 2 others I can't remember but you dig.

second skin done

Ok, here is my promised second winamp skin, all done and packaged. Screenshot first:

download link second.

I kinda rushed the MB and AVS to get it out before the weekend so there may be some bugs in those areas.

Ratchet you got some mad talent there (and good taste in music ). Stick around, and while you're at it spew us out another dozen or so skins
these are skins to set an example with!
RatchetsGame = Permanent addition to my collection.

[edit]What are the odds you'll download Mikroamp and skin it for me? [/edit]
[edit again]oh yeah I forgot to tell you, I couldn't find any bugs in the MB or AVS, just so's ya know.[/edit for real this time]

Thanks Forevever. MikroAMP doesn't look too hard to skin, I'll probably have a shot at it tomorrow...

...actually, I'll have a shot at it now...

...done...

you can download the .bmp here. The package has been updated with the MicroAMP skin too, probably easier just to download that again.

Thanks for the compliments

I never thought that I'd find a skin where the default Windows scrollbars fit in! Now, I have.

Very, very nice. *frantically clicks download link* I look forward to more of your skins.

I have found a small (and often unnoticed) bug in your Playlist.

Look at the top right corner, and you see another visualisation graph. You may think this is not used, but as with everything it is:

1. Open playlist and make sure it is very wide (at least three extra bits)

2. Press Alt+W.

3. Look, the visualisation is now in the Playlist near the buttons (at the bottom).

So, you could skin that, if you can be asked.

Sweet! The first one is slick, and the second one is a combination of colors. Pretty damn good for your 1st and 2nd skins.

I was wondering why that little graph was there when I did my first one. I checked some of the popular skins and they didn't have it skinned (or skinned a custom sig or something there) so I figured it didn't work due to a bug with Winamp... thanks man, I'll skin that for the next release!

Forever <---knew about the PList VIS I rarely skin for it though. Who uses it?

Ratchett, for some reason it won't let me download your mikro zip. Maybe you could just post it as an attachment? and wondering if you did the mbinner? There's a file (you'd put it right in your zip/wsz} called winampmb.txt. When people who use mikro load the minibrowser, it will default the page to that file instead of winamps default. I think the html page you have inside the screen shot would look real good.

Create a file, mb.ini, in either a skin directory or .wsz skin archive.

in the file, put:

[Winamp]
MBOpen=http://www.fdiv.org/

Where "http://www.fdiv.org/" is whatever URL you want launched when the skin is switched to. I'd guess this is for promo skins. I hope this doesn't lead to annoying pop-ups.

this only works on winamp v2.77

Ok, sorry about the broken link to the MikroAMP skin, this one should work (I put it as an attachment too). I did the mbinner.bmp/winampmb.txt/.htm things too. It'll be in the next release along with a few bug fixes and graphic adjustments based on some of the feedback I've gotten.
