System slows when Winamp in pause mode
Been noticing this for a while now.. not sure if it's a combination of Winamp and Windows XP or if it's purely a Winamp bug, or something else...
Basically what happens is that there are no problems while winamp is playing or stopped. But when a song is paused, the system crawls. Screen redraws are slower, flash animations stutter, and the loading of programs is considerably slower. This occurs in either DirectSound or Wave output mode. Can anyone confirm? Other than that, I love Winamp. It's excellent and there's no other music player I'd choose right now. Winamp 2.77, no plugins running, no eq running Celeron 500 256 MB RAM Windows XP Pro Midiman Delta66 sound card w/ latest WDM drivers |

sawg,
Thing is.. it's a clean install. Just installed fresh the other day. I don't have any third party plugins. |

Could be bad sound card drivers
Do other players behave in the same way (like WMP)? |

Ah... yes, good idea. I tested WMP and Quicktime. WMP experiences the same slowdown. Quicktime however, does not exhibit the problem. Interesting...
