I can't play radio downloads help!!

I;m trying to connect to radio sites,when I click the station of my choise i get a massage "error creating writer" then my WMA OUTPUT CONFIGURATION window pops up,from my WMA PERFERENCES.What is the OUTPUT DIRECTORY used for and what folder or file do i need to go to.
p.s i have not changed any of the OUTPUT FORMAT SETTINGS. Thank you, please help........topoff.

Yes you have. You have selected the WMA output plug-in and chosen a combination which it cannot write. Hold Ctrl and press P, and select Nullsoft WaveOut or DirectSound.
