.wav files no longer available in "All Supported Types"

When I click on "Open Files," .wav files do not appear under "All Supported Types" anymore. This forces me to have to go down and manually select "Windows Waveform (WAV)" so that only the .wav files are visible.

Before this recent change, .wav files WERE shown under "All Supported Files."

Winamp is set as my default player for all media types.

How can I get Winamp to recognize .wav files under "All Supported types" again?

Thank You.

Enjoy!

Hmm . . . according to NDM, he/she has already clicked "select ALL"

Winamp doesn't have to be the default player for extensions to appear via the supported filetypes list in the Open Files dialog. It all depends on which Input Plugins are installed, each individual input plugin's config, and whether there's any slightly iffy 3rd-party input plugins installed which are interfering with normal functionality.

Firts thing to check is:
Prefs -> Input -> Nullsoft Waveform Decoder (in_wave.dll) -> config
Make sure all supported extensions are selected, especially WAV.

I'm assuming this is already as it should be, which probably means that it's some dodgy 3rd-party plugin to blame.
The only plugin I'm aware of with this problem is Innover's Real Plugin: aka Innoreal (in_ra.dll). If you've installed this plugin, try replacing it with peter's fixed version, or use a different RealAudio plugin, eg. Hellsoft Realized or Tara (links here)

Though, this has also been a known problem before, simply caused by having too many input plugins installed. The only solution being to remove excess/unwanted input plugins.
More info here: The Official Winamp 2x Bug List
Although I've never been able to personally reproduce this bug, whereas others have, eg. peter (aka: PP) and maybe your good self?

windows openfiledialog bug strikes again (i think). unassociate less important extension with particular input plugins, remove unused input plugins, etc.

I have Windows XP so I used the System Restore feature to take me back to a time when all was right with WinAMP.

As it turns out, Tara's RealMedia plug-in caused this error. As I tried to reinstall that plug-in the problem resulted again. Simply removing in_tara.dll from the Plugins directory fixes this glitch completely.

But when it is placed back, voila, so is the glitch.

Before installing Tara's Plug-In, I used Innover for a short while, so that could be the original source of this minor problem. A problem which is almost already not bothering me at all because I am getting used to having to go down to "Waveform (WAV)."

I'll try to do what Peter suggests, however, because WinAMP rules.

When I had a ridiculously archaic Pentium 166 I had to use WinAMP for RealMedia files because RealPlayer hogged all of the already limited resources my system had. But now with 250 megs of ram and a 1.7 Pentium I can revert back to it.

Thanks to all for the great help.

So you removed in_ra.dll (Innover's plugin) before installing Tara?
ie. It's not wise to have 2 different input plugins installed which support the same formats.

If you still want RealAudio support, try peter's fixed version of in_ra.dll
or try Hellsoft's Realized plugin instead (links in my post above)

I also experienced the same bug with Innover's plugin, which prompted PP to hack it in the first place, hehe. Though I ended up using the Hellsoft plugin which has no problems whatsoever . . . however, I've never tried Tara's plugin . . . I was thinking about it, but you've just put me off again, lol
