Why should I develop for Winamp3?
How can I be sure, that if I develop a new plug-in for Winamp3 (Or is it, component) that the same feature my plug-in will provide won't be an integral part of Winamp3 in the final version?
I've just noticed that a lot of plug-ins out there that can cross-fade in Winamp 2.x will be useless in version 3. So, any answers on that? Thanks. |

If what you develop is better than what the Winamp3 team develops they will probably approach you about including it in a future update to Winamp3. If it isn't...well, I guess just see that it is
. "Integral" is a relative word, and in this case, it isn't very relative. Because WA3 is so modular, many of the components in it can be removed and it will still work. So I guess the answer to your question "How can I be sure, that if I develop a new plug-in for Winamp3 (Or is it, component) that the same feature my plug-in will provide won't be an integral part of Winamp3 in the final version?" is to write an exceptionally good component that will cause people to only want use it.Also, WA3's crossfade is pretty basic, they might still improve it, but it doesn't come close to the configurability of the Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfading plugin. While it is a great product, there's still room for lots of improvement in almost all areas. That's why it is capable of accepting third-party components. What were you thinking of developing? -=Gonzotek=- But I'm feeling much better now. |
