[Win2k] "source dropped connection. disconnecting"

My ShoutCast server keeps disconnecting? It reconnects, but disregards the configuration settings
in the DSP and reconnects at 24-mono instead of 40-stereo or any other bit rate?

What "source" is being dropped?
"12/24/01@16:40:16> [source] source dropped connection. disconnecting."
It is not the audio, WinAmp never stops playing!

I am using WIN2000-PRO (Not WIN Server) Dedicated SC Server / CableModem / Router. Tunneling has been provied for 8000-8001 and for port 80. The log indicates following happening every few minutes:

<12/24/01@16:39:08> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!

<12/24/01@16:42:22> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!

This is driving me crazy...
Everything seems to be configured properly, but I must missing something. It appears
to be totally random and not connected to any specific event.
I have loaded the old server, but the problem continues.

?? At this moment however it has stayed connected over an hour??? I am trying to run
the server 24/7, but as soon as I turn my back the thing goes down.
Is there a major issue with Windows 2000?

Source dropped means that the connection with the Shoutcast DSP was lost, and then it tried to reconnect at 24kbps. This is a "Big Ass Bug" with the latest Shoutcast DSP plug-in. In the DSP plug-in use Encoder2 option. Or use Oddsock's Oddcast available at www.oddsock.org

Merry Christmas - It Worked!

The information you provided absolutely resoved the issue!

I really want to thank you for that! I switched to Encoder 2 and everything is working great!

I'll check out the alternate server on the link you provided also, I downloaded it already!

Thanks again!! Your caption says that your a "Major Dude", I heard That!! ...And thanks for the instant response!
