Winamp and home theatre question.
Here's a question: Is it possible to force Winamp to output sound on all 5.1 Dolby Digital Channels, instead of just a stereo signal?
I have taken a brief look at the virtual speaker plugins, but I am under the impression that they just emulate extra speakers on a standard 2 speaker setup, hence the 'virtual' aspect... or do these plugins translate a stereo signal that will output to all speakers on a Dolby Digital reciever? On a side note, my soundcard is a generic singular lineout thing. No SB Platinum or any of that flash =) I ask this because I am wanting to get the 'sub out' on my reciever working with winamp, as well as the other surround channels that aren't being used... Any help, comments, or suggestions telling me where I can shove my question would be greatly appreciated =) |

I don't think it's possible, but I may be wrong.

Preferences (Ctrl-P) > Plug-ins > Output > Select "Nullsoft DirectSound plug-in..."
4.1 is better then two. No way to get the whole 5.1 yet. Though install this: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/wa2update.exe (newer DirectSound) |
