Associate with Audio CD Box Won't Stay Checked!

Hey guys,
I'm kind of new at this and have tried everything to get Winamp to open and play a CD as soon as I put on in my CDROM drive. I have tired the prefrences>setup>file types> associate with audio cds. IT DOESN'T WORK! The box will NOT STAY CHECKED. No matter what I do, it still goes unchecked after I switch screens. When I put in a CD it just spins and nothing opens. I uninstalled MMJukebox because I didn't like it. Now I can't get CD's to play unless I open winamp manually and browse, and then open my CDROM drive. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, upgrading to the most current version, etc. NOTHING WORKS! Please help me to get the box to stay checked so that CD's will play when I put them in.
Thanks
