BTW: The official origin of the name canada:
In order to choose the name of the country it was decided that all the letters of the alphabet would be put into a large hat and drawn randomly. On the day of the draw the PM reached into the hat and pulled out the first letter and exclaimed "C, eh?", drew then second letter, "N, eh?", the third, "D, eh?". The recorder duttifly wrote down, "CA,NA,DA" and hence the name of our beutiful country.

I think the Onion is saying we DO have people close to this level in Congress already (in their opinion). And to tell you the truth, this guy looks better than Jesse Helms by a long shot.
