Lost independent volume control with multiple instances of Winamp.
Hi,
I've been trying to re-establish independent volume control, whenever I am using multiple instances of Winamp, so that I am able to mix between songs. Volume is "enabled" in both instances, through the Wav Out plugin. I've tried "Alt Volume Setting", but all I get is a delayed version of my normal volume control, in that I move the slider across and it changes the levels a few seconds after. Not really what I am after. This is only happening in XP, I *AM* able to use independent volume control in Windows 98 SE (I'm dual booting). I have an Audigy card with the latest drivers from Creative. I'm using the MAD Audio Plugin for Input. Oh, and yes it has worked in XP before, for quite some time. But I'm not sure was has happened to stop it from working so suddenly. I've tried re-installing the Audigy drivers AND Winamp, no dice. Could there be a setting in XP I should be tweaking? Any help would be appreciated |

use the directsound plug-in that way all the volume controls are independant of each other.
install this for the latest plug-in http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/wa2update.exe with windows XP and the latest driver's there's no difference in sound quality and very very little in CPU usage when compared to the wavout plug-in. |
