It comes from an archaic expression '5 wounds' - the nails driven into Heysoos Kreestos, naturally. The 5 became a Z. Similar to how Christmas can be X-mas. Its a "visual abbreviation"

Why you would want to say 'Five wounds' as an exclamation i'm unsure.. well yeah i guess it doesn't make any sense.

Wierd expressions i use... 'moxie', 'heavens to mergatroid', and 'fish monger'

The way Yorkshire people meet each other by saying 'Now then'. I'm from Yorkshire and use it all the time so I like it. It doesn't make a lot of sence though.

I use "buddy" a lot, even to total strangers. A carry over from my Maritime days.
