Microsoft rigs a ZDNet poll
First they solicited support from dead people, and now they're caught pretty much red-handed rigging a poll --
In a ZDNet poll on .NET vs. Java, Java was leading all the way up until December 24, but Microsoft apparently descended on the poll over the Christmas and New Year holidays to make a dramatic comeback for .NET. http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t269-s2102244,00.html The most amusing bit: Microsoft was apparently betrayed by MS Outlook/Exchange, which passes e-mail subject info and usernames to web servers when a hyperlink in an e-mail is followed. Telstra, the 51% government-owned nationwide telecom and Internet service provider, has been caught pulling a Microsoft.
http://www.zdnet.com.au/newstech/com...0263157,00.htm The story is similar -- A ZDNet poll asks, "Does Telstra's Bigpond Internet service provide value for money?" Initial results were many no's against very few yes's. Then a massive slant towards yes's suddenly ensued. These yes-voters apparently all swamped in from the same IP address, from within Telstra. And they did it not once, but twice. Why don't they ever learn anything? |

They are too ignorant and think they can get away with anything.
"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!" See what I'm listening too. |
