How do I hide my IP address?

Friends have told me that when I broadcast, that it shows my IP address. How can I stop this.

You can't. People need your IP to connect to, if you hide it they cannot connect to you.

am I open for hacking?

if people can see my ip and my firewall is down, am I vuneralble to be raped by every sleezbag hacker?

All this firewall stuff is just paranoia-ware. But if you insists you shouldn't be running a Shoutcast server then or set up your firewall/router to handle Shoutcast properly. But if you are THAT scared off all these "hackers" the best protections is to unplug your computer form the network connection.

real life not chicken little

i love my broadcast but a friend was able to find my computer name from my ip address and ping me. tell me that is not something to worry about.

Don't worry a ping will do no damage to your computer. Either read your firewall documentation clearly or do not run any type of server of any form.
