Colour of Skins......HELP!!!

Im tryin to make my first winamp skin......when i try to paint it, its not coming out as the colours i choose! For example, when painting the "cbuttons", i choose blue, but it paints as a dark grey!, and this happens to other colours aswell like yellow (turns khaki), bright green (turns gold), e.t.c...I am using MS Paint, but this colour change also happens when using Adobe Photoshop....CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!?!?

You need to save the bitmaps as 24-bit first. You're trying to use them as they are- which is 256 color. Go up to File> Save as... then where it says 256 color bitmap, use drop down menu to find 24-bit. Save it and THEN go in to get your blue!
