Is there a plugin that can...

...queue up tracks in the current playlist in the order I select them? I am fed up with having to make a million separate playlists for my 3000-odd MP3s - I just want to open the entire playlist and pick out a few to be played.

Let me put it another way: I would like to be able to right-click a file in the current playlist and choose "play next", and then another, and then another, etc... or select a group of tracks and play them randomly or in sequence.

I hope you get the picture. Is there a plugin that can do this sort of thing?

well, personally, i don't like winamp 3 because it takes about a hundred years to load, whereas winamp 2 takes about 1/2 a second.

if anyone does know about a plugin (or can write a plugin?) that'd be great.

while i'm on the subject of winamp 3... why does it take so long to load?

define takes so long to load????

mine only takes a little longer than winamp 2

unzip your skins(each skin having an individual folder) so winamp doesn't have to decompress them.

loading playlists is slow(i agree)
supposedly much better when beta 3 comes along

and im running winamp 3 with every plug-in i could nacker up

...but it won't load most of my plugins and skins, which is very annoying, and it also takes ages to load my playlist on startup, whereas winamp 2 does this instantly. still, i can't really make any valid complaints until winamp 3 final is released, so until then i'll shut up about it

Read the Winamp3 FAQ it has a lot of information about beta 2.5. You can use many of the general, dsp, vis, and input plugins from Winamp2 with a little extra work. And if you use Peter's updates on winamp2 and 3, that nasty crash-on-seek bug *should* go away.

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.
