Try downloading from http://www.winampheaven.da.ru if you can't get it to work.

The assumption that reformatting gets rid of all viruses is totally invalid. They could have infected your boot sector and still reside on your computer.

Yes, absolutely!
Reformatting does NOT get rid of boot sector, memory or dos resident viruses. Installer CRC invalid (Cyclic Redundancy Checksum error) http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=35630 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....984#post287984 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=23471 http://www.google.com/search?q=%22In...CRC+invalid%22 And here's some other cases of people who thought they didn't have a virus: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=70655 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=66607 |

You guys were right. There was a CIH virus in my boot sector. Actually, 202 files were infected. =) I used CIH cleaner from the link you provided. Everythings fine and dandy now. Thank you all for all your prompt and informative responses, i dont know what i wouldve done without it. Thanks a million.
