Cant get 5.1 sound

I can not get winamp to play through more then two speakers, I have the Following hardware.

Trust, Sound Expert Digital Surround 5.1 sound card
Jazz Speakers 5.1 amplified Speaker System

Although I can get it to play through all 5.1 through media player and the software that came with the hardware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it really bites having to use something as bulky as media player 8 for visualisations.

Thanks in advance to any one willing to help.

you..will never get true 5.1..or even 4.1 sound...when playing mp3's

beacuse mp3's are only 2 channel(stereo)

you can force 4.1 sound using directsound(windows media uses directsound)

preferences (ctrl+p)-->output-->have nullsoft directsound (selected)-->close
